Teen Group Services
While some of our older teens prefer the adult groups, we created the following space just for teens!
Teen Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Group – DBT
Being a teenager is an exercise in transition, adjustment and balance. Dealing with the pressures of school, work, relationships, and finding your life path can be daunting! Here, we focus on how to develop strategies for coping with eating disorder behaviors while growing through the self-making years.
Focused Power CBT – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
For many teens, making decisions and setting goals feels quite daunting. Here, we teach fun and pracrtical mothods to move effectively toward goals, which is a learned skill, not willpower.
Teen Mindful Meal Groups
Similar to the Mindful Meal Group, we discuss our fears and reservations before eating a meal together in silence, focusing on body sensations, thoughts and concerns. We focus on the specific challenges that teens face and how to bring this practice into their daily lives.
Teen Body Image and Anxiety Reduction Group
This groups invovles yoga, body image exploration, and anxiety reduction techniques designed to assist clients in cultivating body acceptance, body knowledge and inner peace. Further, this groups helps teens understand how emotions show up in the body and how to move emotional energy in positive rather than destructive ways.
Teen Process Group
This group is a safe place for teens be real, without fear of judgment or consequence. Here, we discuss teen issues, vent feelings, and ask questions. It’s a place to discuss new experiences and challenges, as well as develop the confidence and understanding to face them!
Teen Expressive Arts Group
Through different forms of art, teens are encouraged to express their inner world. We focus on getting the inside out through art, not creating a final product. Healing and self discovery are the result of expressive introspection.
